This week on Mind Your Body & Soul, Joseph interviewed Sonnie Mayewski. Sonnie Mayewski is a Tallahassee native, a licensed clinical social worker, and the Memory Disorder Clinic Coordinator at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. She has worked with the aging population for over five years. In her role at the Memory Disorder Clinic, Sonnie works in tandem with neurologists, neuropsychologists, and other social workers to provide education, support, and referral to resources to the community as well as those living with dementia and their families. Sonnie serves as the co-chair for the Dementia Care and Cure Initiative (DCCI) of the Big Bend Task Force and the chair of the DCCI Education Subcommittee. She is a Powerful Tools for Caregivers facilitator and a volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association, currently serving as the co-chair for the Tallahassee Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
